MOP/MOP-F - Baffle Plate
Inline steam accessory reducing valve outlet velocity to limit noise and mechanical vibration.
Reduces steam outlet velocity to minimise acoustic noise and vibration downstream of control valves.
Supports cost-effective valve design by eliminating the need for larger valve sizing in high-pressure drops.
Provides a proven solution with decades of steam service experience and adherence to global standards.
The MOP/MOP-F Baffle Plate is a passive device used downstream of steam valves to reduce outlet velocity and suppress noise and vibration. Designed for turbine bypass, vent, and other high-velocity steam applications, the baffle plate limits sonic speed in line with IEC 60534-8-3 standards. By installing a baffle plate rather than upsizing the valve, manufacturers can design more compact and cost-effective systems. Available in straight-through body form with corn- or flat-type plates, the unit supports a range of sizes and is compatible with standard BWE end connections. IMI has applied this proven solution in steam systems since 1980.
