IMI Remosa
Variable Orifice Valve
IMI Remosa Variable Orifice Valves deliver precise flue‑gas pressure control in FCC units by combining fixed orifices with a variable butterfly disc for stable, reliable pressure‑drop management.
Maintains a controlled pressure drop through combined static orifices and a variable butterfly disc for stable FCC operation.
Handles extreme temperatures with abrasion‑resistant linings and high‑performance nickel alloys for long‑term durability.
Offers flexible installation in vertical or horizontal layouts to fit existing flue‑gas piping with no control‑loop changes required.
Features
IMI Remosa Variable Orifice Valves (VOVs) are engineered for accurate flue‑gas pressure control in Fluid Catalytic Cracking units. Each valve combines static orifices with a concentric butterfly disc, allowing it to maintain a defined pressure drop while adapting to changes in flow. This design makes VOVs effective in managing the pressure profile between the regenerator and downstream equipment such as CO boilers or heat‑recovery systems.
Each unit is custom‑manufactured to match the existing flue‑gas line, ensuring seamless integration without requiring changes to the process control loop. VOVs can be installed in vertical or horizontal piping, providing flexibility for different plant layouts. The orifice plate includes multiple drilled holes arranged perpendicular to the gas stream to deliver a minimum fixed pressure drop, while the butterfly disc fine‑tunes the variable portion of the control range.
To withstand severe operating conditions, the main plate is protected with an abrasion‑resistant lining and the butterfly shaft is manufactured from high‑performance nickel alloys such as Inconel X‑750. Hot‑wall and cold‑wall configurations are available to suit different temperature limits. The result is a robust, reliable solution for maintaining stable pressure control in high‑temperature, erosive FCC environments.
