The IMI NEON Vibration Sensor Non-Ex is a battery powered, LoRaWAN enabled device for continuous vibration monitoring of rotating and mechanical assets.

In many industrial sites, there is a variety of assets being used regularly without clear and timely information about their health status.

The future of asset performance management is changing. It is becoming ever more digitised, with data collected from Industrial IoT sensors providing insight and knowledge.

The NEON Vibration Sensor sends alerts to maintenance engineers as soon as assets such as engines, conveyor belts and pumps start to fail. It sets off a trigger when a change of amplitude is detected in the vibration spectrum or when deviations in the data occur. An engineer is alerted to check on this asset to prevent it from failure or long-term damage, which saves costs and ensures operational uptime. Now, assets that are not under constant supervision from operators can be monitored around the clock.

The sensor uses locally run and over-the-air configurable algorithms to keep near real-time checks on the asset. These algorithms are designed to detect changes in the vibration fingerprint of the rotating equipment they are mounted on. All of this is delivered in the reliable NEON form factor, a battery-powered Industrial IoT device that communicates wirelessly via LoRaWAN.

The NEON Vibration Sensor non-ATEX / IECEx certified version, designed for industrial environments where such certification is not required. Built to the same standards as the certified version, it offers high-precision vibration monitoring, locally run algorithms and remote configurability. This variant is ideal for facilities outside explosive zones, such as manufacturing, pulp and paper, power, water management and automation. It delivers all the benefits of the NEON platform without the need for intrinsic safety compliance. With the trusted NEON form factor, full LoRaWAN compatibility and industry-grade resilience, this sensor provides a powerful, cost-effective solution for widespread asset monitoring, engineered to perform for over a decade in the field.
