IMI TWTG
NEON Temperature Sensor (Ex)
Condition-based monitoring sensor for Industry 4.0 assets, designed for continuous surface temperature measurement of critical equipment.
Locally run algorithms detect deviations in temperature patterns to trigger early maintenance alerts.
LoRaWAN-enabled for secure, scalable deployment across industrial environments.
Delivers long-term reliability with 3–5 year battery life and optional IECEx / ATEX Zone 1 certification.
Features
What makes Industrial IoT truly beneficial are the valuable new data points it offers whilst monitoring key elements in industrial processes, especially when easily installed (retrofittable) and provisioned in seconds.
This is exactly what the NEON Temperature Sensor does. It provides insight into temperature changes on almost any industrial asset, instantly, all in the reliable NEON form factor that comes as a battery-powered, IECEx Class 1 / ATEX Zone 1 certified IIoT device, communicating wirelessly via LoRaWAN.
The NEON Temperature Sensor can be attached to existing infrastructure and monitors temperature changes. These insights can positively benefit operations. Currently deployed at industrial sites such as insulated oil storage terminals and transportation pipelines, the NEON Temperature Sensor is versatile across many applications. In oil storage, it monitors product temperature to achieve the desired viscosity for transport and to preserve product quality.
IECEx Class 1 / ATEX Zone 1 certified
Designed for industry from the outset, IMI’s NEON product line is built not only to operate in industrial sites where explosive gases are handled, but also to withstand all other elements a sensor may encounter during its 10-year lifetime. It has been tested and certified to work in conditions from -40° to 80° Celsius without compromising performance. The devices are engineered for safe and secure deployment within a wireless network and are fully remotely configurable, ensuring both longevity and reliability in operation. The devices have also received FM approval and are fully certified for use in the United States and Canada.
Additionally, IMI provides spare parts and product lifecycle support. The sensor has an extremely long battery life, which means it can continue to be used with the correct refurbishment kit. This approach keeps periodic maintenance to a minimum.
The NEON Temperature Sensor can be installed or mounted using various methods, ranging from its built-in magnets (for easy placement on ferrous metals) to band clamps or a bracket for specific use cases.
NEON product line – LoRa devices designed for heavy industry
The NEON product range supports all industrial customers moving towards LoRaWAN as the Industrial IoT network of the future. The LoRaWAN network provides industrial operations with a secure solution that has no vendor lock-in, scales up to tens of thousands of sensors, and covers entire sites with only a small number of gateways. Best of all, the low-power approach means the lifetime of NEON products can be extended dramatically. This international networking technology is rapidly becoming the industry standard.
NEON stands for a standardised approach to collecting data points from within operations and a general approach to creating integrated solutions with existing IT ecosystems.
